FEEDING THE WHOLE STORY: Mental Health, Lactation & Client-Centered Care

Perinatal mental health and infant feeding are often addressed in silos. Yet the lived experiences of new parents tell a more complex story. In this session, we will explore how psychological, physiological, and sociocultural factors converge during the critical postpartum period, influencing both lactation outcomes and mental well-being. Drawing from both evidence-based research and community-rooted practices, participants will learn integrative strategies that bridge clinical care with culturally responsive support.
