| Event Basics: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and Eugene Rec for a paddling cleanup effort along the Willamette River through Springfield and Eugene. We will start from Eastgate Woodlands at the end of Aspen Street (aka: D Street Boat Ramp), pick up trash along two miles of the river, and take out at the Alton Baker Boat Ramp. Reserve a seat in one of our rafts or bring along your own boat!
When & Where: Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 | 8:30AM - 1:00PM Please arrive at our takeout location (Alton Baker Boat Ramp) by 8:30AM. We will leave personal vehicles there – a City of Eugene bus will provide shuttle transportation to the put-in at Aspen Street. If you are bringing your own boat, we will be able to transport your watercraft to the put-in on top of our raft trailer.
To get to the meetup location: follow the entrance into Alton Baker Park over the canoe canal and past the main parking areas. Follow the road around to the left, and take the first right turn for the boat ramp parking area. We will provide a City of Eugene shuttle to take you to the put-in.
What to Bring:
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you are comfortable getting dirty and wet.
- Sunscreen, drinking water, and layers that are appropriate for the weather.
Additional Details:
- Willamette Riverkeeper will provide all necessary cleanup equipment (trash bags, gloves, grabbers, etc.) and Personal Floatation Devices (life jackets) for this event. PFDs are required and must be worn at all times.
