WHAT: Join City of Eugene Recreation and Willamette Riverkeeper for a paddling cleanup effort along the Willamette River through Springfield and Eugene. We will start from Eastgate Woodlands at the end of Aspen Street (aka: D Street Boat Ramp), pick up trash along two miles of the river, and take out at the Alton Baker Boat Ramp. Limited seating is available for those without boats – please indicate your reservation in registration.

WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 – 8:30am-1:00pm

All volunteers should meet at the Alton Baker Park boat ramp at 8:30am. If you are bringing your own boat, please unload your gear at the Aspen / D Street boat ramp and drive back down to the Alton Baker Park boat ramp for a shuttle.

To get there: follow the entrance into Alton Baker Park over the canoe canal and past the main parking areas. Follow the road around to the left, and take the first right turn for the boat ramp parking area. We will provide a City of Eugene shuttle to take you to the put-in.

DETAILS: Please be on time - we will run a shuttle from the take out to the put in from Alton Baker boat ramp at 8:45am. If you are running late, please text event coordinator Luke Stuntz (see below for info). Once we arrive at the put-in at Aspen Street boat ramp, we will go over the cleanup plan and conduct a safety briefing before heading out. Please dress for the weather and the water! Please bring your own water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. Willamette Riverkeeper will provide trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. PFDs are required and must be worn at all times on the river to participate in this event. PFDs will be provided for those reserving a seat in a raft.

BYOB? Please be proficient paddling in Class II moving water for this river segment.
