Preconference Activities

Golf Outing: Highlands Golf Club at Seven Springs

July 15, 2025 | 1:00 PM-4:30 PM | Cost: $44 per person



Interested in a spot of golf? You're in luck! Berks County Conservation District Manager Dean Druckenmiller is coordinating a scramble-format golf outing at the Highlands Golf Club at Seven Springs. Berks will even throw in a sleeve of three balls for each player! The golf shop offers club rental for $32, but participants are encouraged to bring their own clubs as quantities are very limited. Please contact Dean directly with any questions.

Biking and Hiking at Ohiopyle State Park

July 15, 2025 | 1:00 PM-4:30 PM | No charge



Bikers will meet at the Go Laurel Highlands Visitor Center on Sheridan Street to hear from Mountain Watershed Association Youghiogheny Riverkeeper Eric Harder before leaving to ride the scenic Youghiogheny River Trail to Confluence. The trail is 20 miles round trip, crushed limestone, and fairly level. The Ohiopyle Trading Post near the Visitor Center offers bike rental. If you'd rather enjoy a day of hiking, exploring Ohiopyle, or just enjoying nature on your own, the park offers plenty of options, including hiking trails from easy to challenging. Basket Raffle Donation Requested

Westmoreland Conservation District is hosting a basket raffle to benefit PACD during the PACD/SCC Joint Annual Conference. We're asking each conservation district to bring a basket, valued at $75-$100, showcasing what you can find in your county. Tickets will go on sale at the Conference Registration Desk at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, with drawings to take place during the PACD/SCC Awards Luncheon on July 17.


Be creative and show us what makes your county a standout in Pennsylvania. Bring CASH to the conference to buy tickets and win the basket of your dreams! Email Tammy Marsh by July 1 with the theme and basket contents to include in the basket raffle program.

Any deposits received will be utilized towards said cancellation fee and any outstanding balance will be charged to the credit card on file.
