What does the Co-op's Board of Directors do? The Board of Directors plays a critical role in ensuring the continued success and health of the Co-op. They represent Co-op members in determining appropriate organization and performance. They are engaged primarily in developing the vision and long-term viability of the Co-op. They do not run the store, nor do they have direct control over its daily operations.
Who is eligible to vote? Any individual who is a member. A member is an individual who owns at least one "A share" and three "B shares" in their own name, as shown on the records of the Concord Food Co-op, Inc. at close of business on September 21, 2026. If your spouse/partner owns the shares, your spouse/partner may vote, but you may not, even if you have a scan tag that you show at the store register when you make a purchase. If two or more persons in your household own multiple shares of Class A and Class B Common Stock as joint tenants, each person who owns at least one share of Class A Common Stock and three shares of Class B Common Stock shall be a fully qualified Member of the Co-op independently of any other joint tenant and be eligible to vote. How does the online voting process work? When we receive notification that you have voted online, your ballot will be printed and securely sealed inside an envelope, with your voter identification written on the outside. Envelopes with voter identification information will remain sealed until the close of the voting period. Member names and numbers will be used only to verify the validity of each vote received and to eliminate duplicate ballots. At the close of the voting period, Board-appointed ballot counters working in pairs will separate each folded ballot from its envelope and put it into a collection of folded ballots until all successfully validated envelopes have been emptied. Only after the complete separation of ballots from their identifying envelopes will ballot counters open and count the ballots. How do I find my member number? For your member number, please contact Jared in the Concord store at 603-225-6840 (ext. 132). A ballot without this verifying information or the phone number associated with your account will be considered invalid and will not be counted. Duplicates and ballots from members who are not eligible to vote will not be counted. |
