Join the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall's Teen Library Council (TLC), a volunteer based group for teens ages 12-18. You may earn service hours for this opportunity.


The purpose of the TLC is to give teen library patrons a voice in the Andrew Carnegie Free Library’s services and programming. We are looking for teens who would like to make a difference in their Library and in their community. The TLC and the specific projects it takes on will be shaped by those who participate.


Some examples of things that the TLC may do include:


  • recommending materials for the library to purchase
  • representing the library in the community at various events
  • leading and taking part in a variety of service-oriented projects
  • planning and leading library programs for teens


Meetings


When: During the 2026-2027 school year, the TLC will meet on a monthly basis, alternating Mondays and Fridays every other month from 3:00 - 4:00 pm.


The first two meetings will take place on Friday, September 18th and Monday, October 12th, respectively.


Where: At the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Avenue, Carnegie, PA 15106, with an option to join virtually via Zoom.
