Youth Elder Nominations 2026

The Congregational Nominating Committee seeks your recommendations for active WHPC members to serve as Youth Elders (2) beginning in January 2027 for a one-year term. 

Youth Elders exercise leadership, governance, discipline, and responsibility for the life of WHPC. Elders are members of the Session, and it is their duty, individually and jointly, to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation.

For our active youth interested in learning more about serving in vocational ministry, serving WHPC through organizational leadership, or for those gifted by the Holy Spirit with inherent competencies in administration, discernment, faith, knowledge, leadership, serving, teaching, and wisdom, we offer this opportunity as an on-ramp to formalized service on our Session.

Key Information about Youth Elders:

• Will attend the training sessions required of all WHPC Elders to be ordained and installed.
• Will be paired with active Session Elders who will serve as mentors and resources for the Youth Elders.  
• Will rotate through three ministry committees for the first six months of service. During the last six months of service, the Youth Elder will select a committee to regularly attend for the remainder of his or her term.
