| Alexis Estrada Lorenzen — General Manager of Brookside Club of Saratoga
For the past four years, I have served as General Manager of Brookside Club of Saratoga, a nonprofit, member-based recreation and social organization serving approximately 250 local families. In this role, I oversee the Club's operations, financial management, staffing, facilities, programming, member experience, communications, risk management, and long-term planning while working closely with a volunteer Board of Directors and its committees.
During my tenure, I have helped lead significant organizational and operational improvements, including major facility and capital projects, modernization of the Club's membership and billing systems, development and expansion of recreation programming, improvements to operating and safety procedures, and changes designed to strengthen both the member experience and the Club's long-term sustainability. My role regularly requires balancing financial, operational, and community priorities while coordinating staff, volunteers, vendors, contractors, professional advisors, and Board leadership.
Prior to Brookside, I served as Aquatics Director for the Southwest YMCA in Saratoga, where I managed staff and programming, developed new programs, improved operational processes, and supported community and fundraising initiatives. My earlier leadership experience includes positions with the Boy Scouts of America and California State University, Northridge. I hold both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from California State University, Northridge. |

| John Rees — Saratoga Community Member
Technology executive and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience leading companies, building enterprise SaaS platforms, and delivering practical technology solutions. Co-founder of Doubleknot, which I helped build over 17 years into a premier software platform serving the nonprofit sector before its acquisition by Togetherwork in 2016.
Following the acquisition, I led Togetherwork's nonprofit division for nearly ten years as Vice President of Product and Strategy, managing product, operations, and client relationships across a national customer base. There, I developed the vision and business case for a Generative AI and machine-learning strategy across a multi-product organization — work that reflects my belief that emerging technology should serve real-world operational needs, not spec sheets.
Earlier in my career, I co-founded and scaled a global business and IT consultancy to $28M in annual revenue before its acquisition, and led enterprise consulting engagements for Global 2000 clients at KPMG.
Today I am the co-founder of Sagient Partners, an AI implementation consulting practice based here in Saratoga, helping small-to-medium businesses and nonprofits adopt practical agentic AI tools and workflows to grow, compete, and better serve their missions. My background spans software development, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership, and I engage critically and pragmatically with technology to deliver grounded results. |
