The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Is Now Accepting 2021 Annual Awards Nominations


On Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:30 AM, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate business and organizational excellence at the 2021 Annual Awards Luncheon at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.


The SACC Annual Awards event recognizes the achievements and efforts of outstanding Delmarva area leaders. This is also an opportunity to network and celebrate SACC member businesses, community partners, and individuals.


Nominations for the following award categories are now being accepted:


  • Member Volunteer of the Year
  • Ambassador of the Year
  • Small Business of the Year
  • Medium Business of the Year
  • Large Business of the Year
  • Business Professional of the Year
  • Environmental Service Award
  • Agriculture Ambassador of the Year
  • Non-Profit Organization of the Year
  • COVID Community Champion


The 2021 Annual Awards include an additional category - COVID Community Champion2020-2021 was an unprecedented time for all due to the far-reaching consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. and everyone was affected in one way or another. This award will be given to an individual, organization, or business that made significant contributions to support businesses, public health, safety, and/or education throughout the pandemic.


Please take a few moments to nominate member businesses and individuals worthy of the awards as they are described below.

SACC Annual Award Nominations


Please submit nominations for the following categories. Each nomination should be a current SACC member. If you are uncertain whether your nomination is a current SACC member, please confirm via the SACC online directory here.


A nomination in each category is not required but is encouraged. Self-nominations are also accepted. Nominations should clearly document why the candidate should be considered for this award. 


All nominations must be submitted by 5:00 PM, September 3, 2021.

1. Member Volunteer of the Year - Recognizes a person who puts much of their time and effort into supporting the mission of the Chamber

2. Ambassador of the Year - Recognizes an individual that serves on the Ambassador Committee and has not only fulfilled their commitment to promote retention and inclusiveness within the Chamber through outreach to new and existing members, but has gone above and beyond the agreed upon duties. (General Membership Luncheons, Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings, New Member Bag delivery, assimilation of new members etc.)

3. Small Business of the Year - Presented to a firm with a staff of five or less, who have a substantiated record as an established business. The company has demonstrated growth in the last two years of operation, demonstrated an innovative approach to the market, and provides superior customer service.

4. Medium Business of the Year - Presented to a firm with a staff of six to fifty, who have a substantiated record as an established business. The company has demonstrated growth through at least two years of operations, demonstrated an innovative approach to the market, and provides superior service to the community.

5. Large Business of the Year - Presented to a firm with a staff of more than fifty, which has a substantiated record as an established business. The company has demonstrated growth through at least two years of operations, demonstrated an innovative approach to the market, and provides superior customer service. Contributions to the community are considered.

6. Business Professional of the Year - Presented to an individual who is widely recognized as a successful business and community leader.

7. Environmental Service Award - Presented to an individual or organization which has done the most to assist the Lower Shore Business Community become more green-oriented.

8. Agriculture Ambassador of the Year - Recognizes the person or organization that has done the most to aid Maryland's top industry, agriculture.

9. Non-Profit Organization of the Year - Recognizes the group that has best used their resources to aid the community. Requirement: IRS 501(c)3 organization.

10. COVID Community Champion - Presented to an individual, organization or business that championed significant impacts throughout the pandemic which contributed to assisting businesses, impacts on public health, safety and education.
