The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) administers Special Service Area #31 (SSA #31), which provides services and programs to maintain and promote commercial corridors along parts of Clark, Damen, Irving Park, Lawrence, Montrose, Ravenswood, and Wilson. Sidewalk Maintenance & Litter Abatement

SSA #31 funds litter collection services five days a week, from April 1st through November 15th. This includes sweeping sidewalks and the public way throughout the SSA, as well as emptying trash bins in our boundaries. The SSA also funds occasional sidewalk pressure washing. Learn more here.

Supplemental Snow Plowing in the Ravenswood Corridor

SSA#31 funds supplemental snow removal service for the street and parking spaces along the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor, from Lawrence south to Irving Park. This service is offered annually from November 15th to April 15th, for snow occurrences of 4 inches and above. Learn more here.

Landscaping & Neighborhood Beautification

SSA #31 funds various landscaping services throughout the neighborhood from April 15th through November 15th. This includes: general landscaping maintenance on Ravenswood corridor (incl. public way grass mowing and tree pruning); maintaining the bioswales and pedestrian medians on Lawrence Avenue; maintaining flower planters and flower beds along commercial corridors; and weeding/pruning trees across SSA boundaries. Public Art & Placemaking

SSA #31 funds public art projects, like murals and sculptures, throughout Ravenswood. In 2022, the SSA partnered with the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Ravenswood Community Council to expand the Ravenswood Sculpture Garden; install a signature mural at the Berteau and Ravenswood viaduct; and create 3 "People Spaces" (on Lawrence, Montrose, and Wilson). Another "People Space" is set to be installed at Damen and Leland later this year. Read more about our public art and placemaking efforts here.
