The Zaky is organizing the 2022 Global Kangaroo-a-thon from May 1 to May 15 to celebrate Kangaroo Care Awareness Day.


To increase the participation of teams, parents, and kangaroo care coaches, we built the app to do all the hard work of calculations.


After parents track kangaroo care in The Zaky mobile app, it displays information in real-time, including:

  • the KC duration of all the babies in the team,
  • average KC duration per baby per day,
  • performance of coaches and babies,
  • leaderboards
  • graphics
  • winners

Babies and coaches are identified by a screen name only.

The Zaky app was developed and funded by Nurtured by Design® and by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to increase the implementation and practice of Kangaroo Care globally.
