The Responsible Tourism Award recognizes demonstrated innovation from a tourism business, organization, or individual who is leading the way to proactively consider environmental, cultural, and societal impacts to encourage responsible and sustainable tourism in the region. Examples include: businesses managing visitation to ensure positive customer experience while protecting land and cultural assets; providing a welcoming environment. reducing use of resources (energy, waste, water); plantings to enhance biodiversity; financial and in-kind support of local non-profits/charities.
