Fourth Church Survey of Online Participation
During the pandemic, Fourth Presbyterian Church took up the challenge to provide “church” to its membership and beyond through online ministry. That online component has grown to include not only Sunday worship services but education, faith building, care, and social activities ministries.
Fourth Church’s online services now reach a diverse and growing population. This includes the congregation’s in-person members, the 20 percent of our members who do not live full-time in the Chicago Metropolitan area, and a broad constituency of nonmembers throughout the U.S. and abroad. It also includes local members in Chicago who participate online due to age, health reasons, or personal preferences. This dynamic and varied community offers new opportunities — and challenges — of “doing church” in an inclusive and impactful way.
Our expansive online offerings can always be improved. Fourth Church’s newly formed Online Church Family Task Force wants your input on how you experience, and would like to experience, the church’s online services and programs. Results from this survey will be used to enhance the church’s online worship offerings and to build community.
We ask that each member of Fourth Church currently living in your household respond separately to this survey in order to precisely identify online engagement patterns within the entire church family.
In the coming weeks please watch for — and also take time to complete — a second, broader survey assessing Fourth Church progress implementing the long-range plan. We encourage you to respond to both surveys.
We very much appreciate your assistance by taking a few minutes to answer the following questions.
