REQUIRED CRITERIA
- Business with 20 employees or less
- The business is deemed to have made an impact on the local economy through job growth, sales tax revenue, etc.
- Business must have been in business for more than 3 years.
- Serves as a role model for businesses in the community.
- Has demonstrated commitment to the community.
- Develops trust and credibility through open, respectful communication and provides a sense of purpose, vision, and mission for their co-workers and/or staff by investing time and effort in developing others.
- Manages change effectively through formal or informal leadership.

Small Business Award Categories
Nomination for Corporate Executive of the Year Award Criteria:
- This individual holds a senior level management position. Through their corporate role, this individual has exemplified the qualities of leadership in business and character and has made an impact in their profession and company.
Nomination for Emerging Business Leader of the Year Award Criteria:
- (Individual) This award annually recognizes an individual who has most exemplified the qualities of leadership and character and whose civic contributions has demonstrated the desire and aptitude to become an outstanding business leader and a distinguished representative to the greater DFW community.
Nomination for Small Business of the Year Award Criteria:
- Awarded to the business (less than 50 employees) which best embodies the values of the GSW Black Chamber of Commerce.
- Demonstrates growth, integrity, innovation, community engagement, volunteerism, customer service, and workforce development.
Nomination for Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 Criteria:
- Awarded to a start-up business founded within the last 24 months that demonstrates exceptional potential for growth.
- Willingly accepts the challenges of entering the business world in exchange for the potential benefits thereof.
- Demonstrates initiative and drive to bring a product or service to market.
Nomination for Young Professional of the Year - 2022 Criteria:
- A local professional under the age of 40.
- Demonstrates creativity, innovation, character, consistency, and excellence in their field.
- Makes significant contributions to the well-being of the community through work or volunteer activities.
Nomination for Procurement Director of the Year Criteria:
- Hold position of procurement director, purchasing director, etc. The successful candidate must display leadership and commitment to maximizing small businesses utilization.
Nomination for Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year Criteria:
- Must practice exceptional performance of a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business
Nomination for Manager / Supervisor of the Year Criteria:
- Ultimate leadership that drive action, get results, and who routinely go above and beyond to promote a positive work-life balance and strive to provide unparalleled leadership and support within their departments or offices.
Nomination for Non-Profit of the Year - 2022 Criteria:
- Awarded to the non-profit which, through innovation or consistent service, most positively impacts the community.
- Offers a breadth and/or depth of services that improve the well-being of the community
- Initiates collaborative efforts, creating synergy and mutual success amongst partner organizations.
- Be be a local non-profit organization
