Candidate Bob Iyall for TCSA Chairman

Mr. Iyall is a Nisqually Tribal Elder and the Chief Executive Officer of Medicine Creek Enterprise Corporation where he oversees the day-to-day management of enterprises owned by the Nisqually Indian Tribe including the seven locations of Nisqually Markets. Bob has a proven executive management track record and has successfully managed Tribal enterprises to provide maximum benefit to the Tribe. Bob is the current Chairman of the Board for the Tribal Convenience Store Association, a non-profit trade organization developed to assist Tribes in helping each other succeed in the retail industry.

Bob is also Chairman of the board for the Native American Economic Development Association, a consortium of Tribes sharing business ownership in a manufacturing firm.

Candidate Charlie Coulliette for TCSA Treasurer

I am the Retail General Manager for Nisqually Markets. Nisqually currently has 8 locations, with 5 of them being fuel stations. I have been with the Markets for 9 years. I manage everything from day-to-day operations, inventory, marketing, budgets, and P&L statements.

Being involved in such an important part of the Nisqually Tribes’ economic growth has been such a rewarding challenge. I am excited about the continued success of the Markets.

I wanted to be a part of a dynamic group of members who understand the importance of tribal businesses and help other tribes use best practices to grow and expand. This platform has done amazing things for so many people, such as networking capabilities, providing an opportunity for vendor relationships, and sharing ideas from other members. The relationships I have formed have been a true blessing. I truly wanted to join the Board because I had seen a need for diversity, and I was very interested in the dynamics and history of TCSA. Being able to have other Tribes gather and share has been an invaluable tool. The relationships forged are a huge benefit and being a small part of this group has been a great honor. How do we continue to provide educational material, looking ahead to the future of the C-store industry, and ever-changing fuel and cigarette concerns? Looking at new ways to improve is constantly changing. These are only a few of the things we discuss and are passionate about expanding.

I have two children that both work for the Markets while attending college and 2 Golden Retrievers- Max and Kobe. I love to attend native tournaments and enjoy watching our youth and adults. I enjoy watching most sports, especially football, baseball, and now hockey.

I have lived and grown up on the Nisqually Reservation for much of my life. I am the 3rd generation of enrolled Nisqually Tribal members with many family throughout Washington.

Candidate Terry Glance for TCSA At-Large Position

I am currently the Director of Operations for the Swinomish Enterprises, a collection of businesses owned by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community (SITC). In this role, I have direct oversight of a portfolio of retail operations that includes 3 fuel stations, a tobacco outlet, The Coffee Point, and Salish Coast Cannabis.

I started working for the SITC in June 2019 and shortly afterward had the privilege of attending my first TCSA event at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge. It was during this first interaction with TCSA that I became interested in the community they were building and the networking opportunities that were open to all members. Since that first day, I have been extremely impressed with the wealth of knowledge that is in the room. No matter the issue someone is facing, or questions they may have regarding best practices, or “how do I do this” type of scenarios … there was someone in the room that had the answer, or was willing to find an answer. I firmly believe that TCSA is a platform that everyone in our industry could use to broaden their horizons and grow their careers.

Prior to coming to Swinomish Enterprises, my background was in retail food operations. I worked for Domino’s Pizza for 33 years and held many positions. I started as a Store Manager, before being promoted to District Manager, Field Trainer for the Southeast, Regional Director, and eventually Vice President of Operations. In my free time, you will find me with the family or exploring the many beaches, hiking trails, and other adventures the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Candidate Lesa Cashman for TCSA At-Large Position

I work for Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE), an economic development arm of the Puyallup Tribe, as Supply Chain Team Director. My journey, with PTE, began in May 2013 when I accepted the position of Supply Chain Manager. In March of 2017, I had been promoted to Supply Chain Director. I oversee the replenishment, promotions, inventory control, graphics, marketing, and distribution center daily operations. I started attending TCSA events in 2013. At that time, this group was called Tribal Summit Group (TSG) and was just starting to get their feet under them. Looking back, the TCSA group has grown leaps and bounds over the past decade. Having the opportunity to attend these events has, and continues to do so, helped me to grow professionally on many different levels. All my interactions, with the TCSA group members and events have been motivating, empowering, challenging and inspirational. I always find I am learning something new from TCSA members and educational seminars.

David Long, prior Board Member and still very active with the current Board, has encourage me to join the TCSA board. Giving David’s idea great though I decided I would like to join and be a part of a great team of diverse leaders. I am also genuinely interested in helping to select educational information for tribal c-store operators. I love to learn, and I love to help inspire creative and positive ideas that empower others. I believe that by joining the TCSA board I can do just that. I am a mom of two amazing kids. I have two fur babies with very unique and fun personalities. I’ve been married for eight years and I couldn’t ask for a better life partner. He is amazing and very supportive in my never-ending quest to learn, experience and embrace life. When I do have free time, I love to find a quite area and get lost in a great book.

Candidate Mike Araiza for TCSA At-Large Position

Hi, my name is Mike Araiza and I am a Squaxin Island Tribal Member. I have worked for the tribe for the last six years as the General Manager for the Skookum Creek Tobacco Company, Inc. (SCTC).  I am currently serving as an At-Large Member for the Tribal Convenience Store Association Board of Directors. I would like to ask for your support as I run for re-election. As the G.M., I am tasked with overseeing cigarette manufacturing in all aspects, from raw materials contracts to production; quality control oversight and compliance coordination, to Sales fulfillment. With the help of my management team, we have led SCTC through unprecedented growth during the last six years. Increased efficiency, morale and sales have led to the most profitable time in the company’s history. As the SCTC General Manager, I am part of the Executive Team for the Squaxin Island Tribal Businesses. Outside of tobacco, I give back to his tribe by serving on the Board of Directors for the Squaxin Island Museum and Learning Resource Center (MLRC). I am also the coordinator for the Native American Economic Development Authority (NAEDA). Prior to Tribal Employment, I completed a 21-year career in Criminal Justice spanning two states, beginning with Juvenile Corrections, Adult Corrections, and ending in Law Enforcement.

I have a passion for learning, sharing new ideas and looking at things in different ways. That has helped me be successful in the areas I have focused on. I encourage conversation with the end goal of sharing ideas, reaching common understanding and promoting success.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my three children, Miguel, Pika and Matt and especially my new grandson, Damian. I enjoy Camping and when I can get a free minute, I am probably on a golf course nearby. Let’s schedule a meeting and discuss tobacco or other current C-Store trends.
