Want to make a difference and help out an area nonprofit while having fun?

MUW is looking for teams of volunteers to assist a local nonprofit with a half-day service project. This year, we are combining our official Campaign Kickoff with Day of Caring. We hope to have volunteers disperse to project sites after the Campaign Kickoff ends at 10:00am, meaning projects will begin at about 10:30am.

This year, we're introducing a new approach to better match volunteers with projects they find meaningful. If you have a preference among the projects listed, please rank them below. We’ll do our best to consider your preferences when assigning volunteer groups.

The Community Kitchen: Pantry organizing and staffing. Two or three volunteers needed 3 to 4 hours

Keene Family YMCA: Dusting from ladder. Four volunteers needed (two on ladder and two spotters) for two hours.

Southwestern Community Services Head Start: Painting, power washing and organizing . Four volunteers needed for four hours.

Monadnock Family Services: Simple landscaping (and fixing a wooden bench if someone has carpentry skills). Six to eight volunteers needed for three hours.

Keene Senior Center: Kitchen shelving organization. Two volunteers needed for two hours.

Keene Day Care Center: Gardening, outdoor cleanup, trim fence foliage, nature trail cleanup, sidewalk/vine cleanup, move sand, clean windows, fans, baseboards, sheds. Two to ten volunteers needed for two to four hours.

Hundred Nights: TBD

Rise for baby and family: Weeding, cutting brush, raking, yard clean up. Two to three volunteers needed for two hours.

Habitat for Humanity: Project details are dependent on where they are in the building process at that time. Could include landscaping and indoor building. Any project chosen will be teachable. Up to fifteen volunteers needed for three to six hours.

The Grapevine Family Resource Center: Shed painting, wood dealing, and weeding. Three to five volunteers for three hours.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Day of Caring follows our Campaign Kickoff! We warmly encourage representatives from volunteer sites to join us at 8:30AM at Keene Country Club in Keene for our Kickoff which will include breakfast, a panel discussion on afterschool and early childhood education workforce development, and a celebration of our partners and supporters. If you and other volunteers can to attend, please provide the names and email addresses of attendees below to register.
