CFA Institute membership is not required for Student Membership in the CFA Society Austin. An individual may be a Student or Candidate member of the CFA Society Austin for a combined maximum of three years.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents in order to be considered for student membership:

  • a completed Student Membership Application
  • a Professor authorization Form signed by a Professor of Finance, Business, or Economics at the college / university where the students is enrolled
  • copy of current unofficial transcript or class schedule
  • a 200-500 word essay on importance of ethics in the conduct of business in the global economy

Section C. Essay

Regular and Affiliate Members of the CFA Society Austin must understand and comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations (including the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct) of any government, regulatory organization, licensing agenda, or professional association governing their professional activities.

You must submit an original, typewritten essay of 200-500 words that describes the importance of ethics in the conduct of business in the global economy.

No payment is necessary until after your application has been reviewed by the Membership Chair. If your application is not accepted, you will not be charged for dues. If you are accepted, you will be contacted be sent a link where you may pay your dues online using a credit card.
