BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS ~ NOMINATIONS ~

The Kearney Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards reveal the best of the best in Kearney Chamber businesses.

These awards recognize outstanding business excellence demonstrated through a process of peer nomination, evaluation, and ultimately being voted as a winner.


Nominees must be a member in good standing with the Kearney Chamber of Commerce. Please nominate only one individual or business for each award category.



Be sure to describe the individual or business you have nominated,

as well as the key reasons you have chosen to make this nomination.


Nominations will close on Friday, July 31.

Voting will open in August.

The Fine Print

  • Any Kearney Chamber member can nominate a member business, or you can nominate your own business. 
  • Businesses and Individuals nominated in multiple categories will only be eligible to win one category.
  • Past recipients are eligible to be re-nominated the next year in a different category only.
  • Previous winners must wait two years before eligibility is restored in that category. 
  • Businesses may receive nominations year-after-year if they are not selected for an award.
  • Nominations are only valid for the year they are submitted.
  • Nominations that do not meet eligibility criteria, or those without a completed nomination form, inclusive of supporting narrative in each category, will not be considered.
  • All nominations must be submitted through the online Business Excellence Awards survey.
  • Multiple nominations may be submitted, but a separate online form must be completed for each entry.
  • Judging for this award is based solely on the information as provided.
  • Nominations will be followed by two rounds of voting. First round by membership. Final round by chamber committees and Board of Directors as needed.
  • Award recipient information will not be released publicly until after the Harvest Gala. Nominees will be notified prior to the Harvest Gala to encourage attendance.

BOB TATE MEMORIAL AWARD (A.K.A. CITIZEN OF THE YEAR): The Bob Tate Memorial Award is given to recognize an outstanding member of the chamber community who, through their personal involvement, leadership abilities, and selfless giving of their time and talent over the previous 12 months, has positively affected Kearney and the lives of its citizens.

Like its namesake, this award honors those who’s contributions to Kearney have been both a recent effort resulting in a substantial benefit to the community, and a steady, reliable long-term history of service to Kearney.
