| The City of Newark’s Office of Sustainability, Resilience & Community Transformation is launching Compost Newark, a community composting initiative designed to help Newark residents reduce food waste, create nutrient-rich compost, and support a healthier and more sustainable city. Residents interested in participating are invited to complete this Interest Form. Selected participants will have the opportunity to purchase a compost tumbler at a discounted rate as long as supplies last and participate in workshops and technical support throughout the one-year program. If you do not qualify for the discounted tumbler, you can still participate by purchasing your own tumbler or using a tumbler you already own.
- Must attend at least 3 composting workshops over the next year
- Agree to weigh food waste and compost it
- Agree to communicating with OSCT staff and documenting experience
- Purchase a composter if they do not already have one
