| U.S. EPA’s Trash Free Waters program, in collaboration with the University of Georgia, will be setting up an Escaped Trash Monitoring Network to periodically gather escaped trash data from locations around the country in order to annually update density and material type estimates on the Escaped Trash Risk Map. At this time, we are asking interested parties to sign up here to indicate your interest in participating in our monitoring network. Submitting your information on this list does not commit your organization to participating in the final established monitoring network. Final network participants will only be asked to gather data near their local areas. Details on Escaped Trash Monitoring Network online training and participation requirements will be provided to parties indicating preliminary interest no later than Spring 2025, at which point organizations who are still interested in participating can move on to the online training and certification step and eventually be formally inducted into the monitoring network. |
