The goal of this 45-minute class is to provide users with a holistic self-care practice that can help balance the mind and body. Users will be empowered to try simple tools drawn from qigong and trauma-informed mindfulness to help navigate all of the stressors they may face as part of their cancer journey. Donna will tailor this practice to the a variety of issues and symptoms relevant the WM community.

Donna DeLuca has myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), a chronic disorder that can worsen with activity but doesn’t necessarily improve with rest. There is no cure, but Donna wants you to know that she has found enormous physical, mental and emotional relief through the practice of Qigong.

Bio: Donna DeLuca is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Rochester in the Program of Dance and Movement, as well as at its Pluta Cancer Center. She trained as a Professional Intern at the Center for Mindfulness, U Mass Medical Center while she was an Ada Comstock Scholar at Smith College. She has received an MS in Exercise Science and Behavioral Health Psychology from Ithaca College. She has trained for the past eight years with Qigong Master Lisa B O’Shea of the Rochester Qigong Center in her Healthy Balance Qigong approach and is certified to teach by her. 


Most importantly, she has served as a passionate advocate for radical self-care through her teaching and coaching career for over 40 years.
