| Distributed Energy Resources Program: Greater Plymouth Area
Eversource's support of the clean energy goals of Massachusetts has led to initiatives which will effectively integrate renewable energy sources and advance the commitment to clean and renewable power generation. Over the past several years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of distributed generation facilities (DGF), primarily solar and battery storage, seeking interconnections to the electric grid in Southeastern and Western Massachusetts. These important clean energy resources are needed to help Massachusetts achieve its net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2050. These projects include equipment upgrades and fence expansions at our existing substations as well as the installation of new transmission lines in existing rights-of-way.
