| Featuring your wine hosts... Lee and Emily Fergestrom, Fortuity Cellars
Little did Lee and Emily know that a chance meeting on a cold and rainy December afternoon in Seattle would profoundly change their lives forever. Fast forward to today – the Fergestroms are now married, embarking on the vintners’ life in the heart of the Yakima Valley (Wash.).
Neither of their families come from the wine world or agriculture – although Emily did have some cows and rabbits as a child and Lee was in 4-H. Instead they have used their combined four decades of business, start-up tech and strategic communications experience to launch a successful boutique winery.
Fortuity Cellars, established in 2017, was quickly recognized as a winery to watch and also named the 2019 Small Business Administration Rising Startup of the Year for Washington state.
Fortuity delivers crisp, clean and aromatic white and rosé wines and brilliantly balanced, fruit forward red wines from the Yakima Valley. They believe the people and the unique climate, soil, sun, slopes, wind and water help produce some of the highest quality wines in the world. This is why they only source from some of Washington’s top vineyards, many now certified sustainable.
Fortuity focuses on single varietal, single vineyard wines that showcase the truest expression of this place. Red blend lovers will appreciate our traditional and unconventional blends that have gained recognition in recent years.
