Christin Cooney

Business development and business engagement is what Christin Cooney does and her field of expertise is in how that development and engagement connects to education and industry.

Christin’s background includes over 20 years in K-12 and higher education in admissions, career counseling and community connection with a detailed focus on manufacturing and information technology as it pertains to education and the opportunities the understanding of business provides.

Christin is a relationship builder and a conversation starter. Her strength is in listening and then connecting as ideas are identified and processes are built.

“I appreciate being the translator between education and business,” she says. “They don’t speak the same language because they operate so differently. I enjoy that creation of synergy between the two foundational blocks to sustained success.” Christin offers extensive history in compliance coordination in a constantly changing and highly regulated world. “I connect curriculum to business needs,” she states simply.

Christin is currently a Senior Workforce Education Strategist for Tooling U-SME. Tooling U is the education and training division of SME, Society for Manufacturing Engineers. Her professional journey includes resource and career development at five colleges and universities. Christin holds a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio with her two children, husband and bad dog:)
