Brian L. Beaulieu is an American economist and business-cycle forecaster best known for leading ITR Economics, where he served as CEO and Chief Economist from 1987 to 2024, later becoming Consulting Principal and Chief Economist. He's known for applying economic forecasting to help businesses improve profitability. Before ITR Economics, Beaulieu worked as an economist for the U.S. Department of Labor, focusing on the health-care component of the Consumer Price Index. At ITR Economics, he spent decades researching business cycles and presenting insights to business owners and executives worldwide. He has worked with Clark Bellin, principal of Bellwether Wealth, for 10 years and invested with Bellwether Wealth for 15 years. Beaulieu coauthored Prosperity in the Age of Decline and Make Your Move, as well as ITR Economics' children's book But I Want It! He has shared his analysis through presentations, workshops, and media appearances, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and The Washington Post. He's widely regarded as one of the country's most experienced business-cycle economists, with decades of forecasting and public speaking behind him. His commentary has also reached audiences through organizations like Vistage International. |

He spent fifteen years at one of the world's largest hedge funds, where he directed cross-asset investment research and led the weekly process behind the macro asset-allocation and rebalancing decisions made by its portfolio managers and chief investment officers. He writes regularly on macroeconomic and investment topics. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. |

His understanding of economic trends combined with business strategy has given him the ability to accurately lead executives through all manner of economic conditions, including analyzing specific acquisition targets, strategic decisions, and profitability maximization.
