Sacred Relationships in TEK: California Indian Perspectives on Native Fauna, November 18, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) honors all the beings that make a community and ecosystem whole. Join us for a conversation about the ecological importance of animals, from soil-dwelling insects to sky-bound birds, and the cultural landscapes that uplift them.

Meet the Speakers

Corine Pearce is an enrolled member of the Redwood Valley Little River Band of Pomo Indians from Mendocino County California. She is a Master Pomo basket weaver, traditional singer, dancer, herbalist, storyteller and cultural educator. Corine is a certified California Naturalist and has over 30 years of experience teaching traditional ecological knowledge, in her territorial lands and beyond.

Andrew James Pittman is a citizen of the Los Coyotes Band of Indians. He is Mountain Cahuilla and Iipay. Andrew is a video producer, camera operator and video editor for Condor Visual Media, a business he co-founded with his wife, Lisset Valencia-Pittman. Andrew has been a visual storyteller for over 15 years and prefers creating meaningful artwork that supports Tribal Nations, environmental protection and conservation. Aside from video production, Andrew is working towards a vision of bringing the near-extinct California Condor back to his ancestral lands in Southern California.
