Carolyn Majcher, OD, FAAO

9am (1 D/T)

This course will review the clinical presentation and systemic disease associations of retinal vascular occlusive diseases including central and branch retinal artery occlusions as well as venous occlusion and ocular ischemic syndrome. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of systemic investigation to look for potentially serious, life-threatening etiologies.

"Ocular Emergencies and Trauma Grand Rounds"

Carolyn Majcher, OD, FAAO

10am (2 D/T)

Utilizing a grand rounds presentation format, cases of trauma and ocular disease presenting to the emergency department, most of which required emergent treatment to prevent blindness and/or serious systemic consequences, will be discussed.

"The Lean Machine: A Systematic Approach to an Efficient and Cost-Effective Practice"

Aaron Neufeld, OD

12pm (1 General)

An optometry practice as a business model can be broken down into two components serving patients and subsequent income generation. Tips on increasing key metrics and overlooked areas that lead to reduced cash flow will be analyzed, in order to help the practice owner develop a methodology of creating a lean practice.
