The Greene and Greene style is one of the most refined expressions of the American Arts and Crafts movement. In this four hour workshop, Mark Seay will explore the history and lasting influence of Charles and Henry Greene while introducing the defining elements of the style—softened edges, cloud lifts, exposed joinery, and ebony accents. Demonstrations will include finger-jointed drawers, ebony plugs and splines, pillowed ebony details, square mortises, and breadboard spline techniques. Students will gain both practical skills and design inspiration for their own work. |
