  • Quality Control Ambassadors by curating clothing for our clients.
  • Fashion Processors by sorting and processing new clothing to help us dress our clients for success.
  • Logistic Supporters to assist with new shipments and inventory, including un-boxing, sorting, counting, re-boxing, and palletizing.

What else should we know?

  • Parking at the Donation Center is extremely limited; we recommend carpooling or using rideshare services as much as possible!
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
  • We recommend dressing in layers as the Donation Center can be cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 10lbs and twist/bend at waist level.

VOLUNTEER RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY FORM

  • This Volunteer Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk & Indemnity Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into on this present date of registration. By signing the below, I, the volunteer (or volunteer’s legal guardian), acknowledge that entry into this Agreement is in consideration of my participation as a volunteer, and confirm my understanding and agreement to the following: POLICIES AND SAFETY RULES: I will comply with the volunteer policies, safety rules, conduct expectations, and other directions of Working Wardrobes for a New Start, a California Non-Profit Corporation (“Working Wardrobes”), including but not limited to the Volunteer Code of Conduct attached hereto as Exhibit A. VOLUNTEER NOT AN EMPLOYEE: I understand that (a) I am not an employee of Working Wardrobes, (b) I will not be paid for my volunteer services, and (c) I am not covered by or eligible for any insurance, health care, worker’s compensation, or other benefits from Working Wardrobes. I understand that Working Wardrobes may terminate my volunteer status at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason.

  • RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH VOLUNTEERING; ASSUMPTION OF RISKS: Participation as a volunteer carries with it certain risks. These risks may arise in a variety of ways. They include, without limitation, lifting heavy objects or otherwise exerting myself, using sharp objects or other tools, being exposed to dust, and interacting with and being in the presence of other volunteers, clients, visitors, and other people. I understand that these risks include risks of minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, and sprains; major injuries such as eye injury, joint or bone injuries, heart attacks, and concussions; catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and death; property damage or loss; loss of privacy or reputation; and financial obligation. I understand that these risks may arise from my own actions or from the actions of others.

  • I also understand that even if Working Wardrobes, I, and other persons present at Working Wardrobes facilities follow all health and safety protocols, I may still be exposed to COVID-19 or other infectious diseases. I understand and acknowledge the above and confirm and acknowledge that these are risks associated with volunteering. With such information and awareness, and with the recognition that other factors may create additional such risks, I knowingly, freely, and voluntarily (a) sign up to volunteer for Working Wardrobes, (b) engage in volunteer activities, and (c) assume and accept the risks of all injury, death, property damage or loss, financial obligation, loss of privacy, loss of reputation, and all other injuries and consequences, whether known or unknown, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and whether incurred at Working Wardrobes’ facilities or elsewhere, that may result, directly or indirectly, from my presence at Working Wardrobes’ facilities, transit to or from Working Wardrobes’ facilities, or participation as a Working Wardrobes volunteer, regardless of the cause.

  • WAIVER AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS: In return for being permitted to provide volunteer services and engage in activities related to serving as a volunteer for Working Wardrobes, including any associated use of the premises, facilities, staff, equipment, transportation, and services of Working Wardrobes, I, for myself, heirs, personal representatives, and assigns (together, the “Releasing Parties”), do hereby release, waive, discharge, and promise not to sue Working Wardrobes and any of its past, present, or future officers, directors, members, employees, managers, agents, volunteers (including committee participants), sponsors, participating entities, attorneys, partners, associates, representatives, parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, successors, heirs, assigns, and insurers, including any and all persons acting by, through, under or in concert with them (together, the “Working Wardrobes Parties”), jointly, severally, and individually, from any and all liability, claims, costs, and expenses of any kind and of any nature, including but not limited to resulting from the negligence of the Working Wardrobes Parties, or any of them, which I, or any of the Releasing Parties, may have or which may later accrue, be caused by, or arise directly or indirectly in connection with my participation as a volunteer or presence at Working Wardrobes’ premises, facilities, or participating venues. This waiver and release of claims includes all claims in respect of the risks set out above, known and unknown, foreseen, unforeseen and unforeseeable, regardless of the cause or whether such claims arise from tort, contract, or otherwise, and even if caused by negligence, whether passive or active.

  • I understand and have been advised that I may have rights under Section 1542 of the California Civil Code (“Section 1542”), which reads as follows: A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party. I expressly waive any rights conferred under Section 1542, as well as under any other statutes or common law principles of similar effect, with respect to any claims I have in exchange for the consideration provided. This release does not extend to any claims that may not be released by private agreement.

  • INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS: I also agree to indemnify and hold the Working Wardrobes Parties, and each of them, harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of my involvement as a volunteer, and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred. Also covered is liability arising from, connected with, caused by, or claimed to be caused by, the active or passive negligent acts or omissions of Working Wardrobes or any third party. The duty to defend, indemnify, protect, and hold harmless shall not include any claims or liabilities arising from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Working Wardrobes.

  • PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS: I understand that I am solely responsible for knowing my own physical condition and making my own decision about volunteering. I will not do anything beyond my own limitations while volunteering for Working Wardrobes and, as necessary or otherwise appropriate for my safety and wellbeing, I will inform others with whom I am working about the nature of my limitations. I consent to Working Wardrobes sharing this information with health professionals or first responders should I become ill or injured while at Working Wardrobes’ facilities or while otherwise volunteering for Working Wardrobes.

  • MEDICAL CARE CONSENT AND WAIVER: In the event of a serious emergency, illness, or injury requiring medical treatment, I hereby grant permission to Working Wardrobes to obtain emergency medical care and related services for me, as it deems necessary. The choice of physician(s), ambulance(s), or hospital(s) shall be at Working Wardrobes’ sole discretion. I also understand that I am solely responsible for any costs related to my medical treatment and transport, and that Working Wardrobes does not provide health, medical, disability, or other insurance coverage for me. I understand that through this Agreement I have waived, along with other things, any and all right I or any of the Releasing Parties have or may have as a result of any medical injury or illness I sustain relating to or in connection with my volunteering for Working Wardrobes and as further set forth herein.

  • PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE: I hereby consent and authorize an employee, volunteer and/or agent of Working Wardrobes to take photographs or motion pictures of me, and/or to produce videotapes, audiotapes, closed circuit television programs, web casts, or other types of media production that capture my name, voice, and/or image (any of the foregoing types of media are called the “Materials”). I authorize Working Wardrobes to copyright the Materials, and I authorize Working Wardrobes to use, reuse, copy, publish, display, exhibit, reproduce, license to a third party, and distribute the Materials in any educational or promotional materials or other forms of media, which may include, but not be limited to, publications, catalogs, articles, magazines, recruiting brochures, websites, social media, or other electronic forms of media, and to offer the Materials for use or distribution in other publications, electronic or otherwise, without notifying me. Working Wardrobes may use the Materials without paying me for such use. I grant Working Wardrobes all copyrights in and waive any legal claims relating to the Materials, including those relating to copyright, rights of publicity or privacy, or defamation, or arising from any distortion, blurring, or alteration that may occur in the making, editing, or use of the Materials. I also agree that Working Wardrobes may identify me by name, position, and such other identifying information relative to exposure in the media.

  • SEVERABILITY: I further agree that this Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law and that if any part of this Agreement shall be determined to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, that part shall be severed from the Agreement and the remaining parts shall be valid and enforceable, so long as the remaining parts continue to fulfill the original intent of the parties to the Agreement.

  • GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Orange County, California. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF UNDERSTANDING: I have read this Agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I confirm that I am signing the Agreement freely and voluntarily and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and that this Agreement will run in favor of, and may be enforced by, each of the Working Wardrobes Parties, and will bind each of the Releasing Parties. By typing my name and the date in the fields provided, I express my understanding and intent to enter this Release and Waiver of Liability willingly and voluntarily.

  • I affirm that I am of legal age and able to sign on my own behalf. I affirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the volunteer and am freely signing this document on their behalf. I certify that I have authority to sign on behalf of the volunteer and make decisions for the volunteer regarding volunteering. I also waive and release the Working Wardrobes Parties from any and all liability, claims, costs, and damages of any kind which I may have resulting or arising, directly or indirectly, from the volunteer’s participation in volunteering. I have read this Agreement and fully understand that by signing this Agreement, I am giving up legal rights and remedies that may be available to the volunteer, to me, and to other persons.
