Speaker Bio:


Amy is a results-oriented certified HR professional and executive coach with over 28 years of experience in human resources, management, and coaching. She specializes in aligning corporate and human capital strategies, with expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, workforce investigations, regulatory compliance, training, facilitation, and leadership development. Amy’s ability to connect with clients, whether one-on-one or in large groups, has made her a trusted partner in helping individuals and organizations unlock their full potential.


Amy has thrived in a variety of industries, most recently higher education serving as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Community Relations at American Public Education, Inc. for over 13 years before she decided to start her HR consulting, training, and leadership coaching company in February 2021. Additionally, Amy has collaborated with clients in the federal government, banking, gaming, manufacturing, housing, finance, healthcare, tech, and IT industries.


Amy is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and holds a master’s degree in management with a concentration in human resources. She has earned Senior

Professional Human Resource Certification (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations. Among her accolades, she was named “West Virginia’s Wonder Woman” by West Virginia Living Magazine in 2020, “HR Professional of the Year” by the WV Society of Human Resources in 2011, and received the “Jefferson County Distinguished Citizen” award in 2018.


A passionate community leader and advocate, Amy serves on several boards, including Leadership West Virginia, CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Charles Town Advisory Board, Ablegamers, and Valley Health Corporate Board. She was appointed to two West Virginia Commissions and is a founding member of the Eastern Panhandle Society for Human Resources. An empty nester since 2020, Amy enjoys visiting her 3 sons who live in Colorado, Nevada, and California respectively. Amy is proud of her family’s deep military roots (including her father, husband, and two of her sons) and enjoys traveling, hiking, dancing, and exploring wineries with her husband.
