Beyond the Ask: Building a Culture of Philanthropy Across Your Nonprofit

In this interactive training, nonprofit leaders will explore how to build a culture where board members, staff, and volunteers all understand their role in advancing the mission and strengthening community support. You'll examine the values and practices that shape a healthy culture of philanthropy, clarify board and staff roles, identify overreliance on a small number of funders, and leave with a focused 90-day action plan.

Leaders are encouraged to attend with a board member, development or program staff member, or other key partner — someone who can help carry the work forward.

Who should attend:

Executive directors, CEOs, and senior nonprofit leaders serving the Big Sky community. Bring one “plus-one” — a board director, development or program staff member, or other internal partner.

What you'll walk away with:

A clear definition of a culture of philanthropy — and how it differs from transactional fundraising

Clarity on board, staff, and leadership roles in building community support

A framework for reducing funder concentration and diversifying revenue and relationships

A focused 90-day action plan with concrete commitments

Facilitator:

Kari Anderson, Incite! Consulting
