This session explores System and Performance Descriptions (SPDs) as a practical way to establish system requirements, performance expectations, and measurable criteria earlier in design. By creating a shared system-level language, SPDs help architects, engineers, specifiers, owners, estimators, contractors, and product manufacturers work from a more consistent understanding of design intent.
Attendees will examine how structured design intent can carry through estimating, product evaluation, specification development, procurement, and construction, while complementing traditional MasterFormat® specifications.
