Electric Vehicle Show & Luncheon Panel Discussion

Join us in celebrating the Electric Vehicle transition. We will show EVs (even an electric School Bus) on site. We will have a wonderful lunch with the entire restaurant booked for our event participants. We will have great speakers from the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition, Dominion Energy Virginia, and Fairfax Public Schools. Our panel of speakers will be moderated by Brooke Smallwood of Oasis Energy Partners. The last time we did this in 2016, the event sold out fast, so register early! Don't miss out.

The event will start with an outdoor EV car show in the parking lot area indicated in red below. There will be +/- 10 EV cars/light trucks, and EV Bus. This portion of the event will be scheduled for one hour (10:00 am 11:00 am)

Lunch will be provided by Oh George! restaurant. Lunch and soft drinks will be provided with admission to event participants. Alcohol will be available for individual purchase, but not included in event registration. This portion of the event will be scheduled for one hour (11:00am until Noon)

After lunch, we will move to the side room of the restaurant for our panel discussion. Information about all speakers appear below. This portion of the event will be scheduled for one hour. (Noon until 1:00 pm)

Brooke Smallwood - CEO, Oasis Energy Partners



Ms. Smallwood has cultivated a distinguished career, with over two decades of experience in the energy sector. She worked in management for the largest utilities in North America including Exelon, Alta Gas, and Southern Companies, as well as Fortune 500 companies including Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Lockheed Martin, and AECOM.

In 2023, Brooke founded OASIS Energy Partners, a trailblazing firm dedicated to pioneering new technological concepts in the energy industry. Rooted in principles of Equity, Diversity, and Justice, Brooke leads as a servant leader, poised to disrupt the industry, and pave the way for a clean energy future accessible to all. OASIS Energy Partners is a Minority-Woman Owned Company.

Kate Staples

Director – Electrification

Dominion Energy Virginia

 

Ms. Staples is responsible for leading Dominion Energy’s electrification strategy. Previously, she developed and implemented renewable and demand side management programs for Dominion Energy’s residential and non-residential customers. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Tech and her MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She serves on the Board of Virginia Clean Cities and received her Certified Energy Manager certification in 2014.

Antoine M. Thompson

CEO/Executive Director

Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition

 

Mr. Thompson is a nationally recognized leader in environmental justice, green business, housing, diversity, and urban policy. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in history and African & Afro-American Studies from SUNY Brockport and is the CEO/ Executive Director of the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCC), a public-private partnership that promotes the use of clean, American transportation fuels for homeland security, improved air quality, environment justice, diversity, and inclusion.

Ron Kaltenbaugh

President

Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington,

 

Mr. Kaltenbaugh has a passion for working as an advocate for action on climate change. A key focus of this work has been on electric vehicles and renewable energy. Ron is currently the president of the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington DC (EVADC), an owner advocacy group that promotes electric vehicles. An EV driver since 2012, he continues to work on reducing his own carbon footprint including home solar and geothermal systems and two electric cars.


Ron Edwards

Coordinator of Fleet Operations

Fairfax County Public Schools


Mr. Edwards has been in Fleet Management / Maintenance for 34 years. He has helped in the fleet management for Virginia Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Game & Fisheries, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Capitol Building Supplies (GMS), Virginia Power, Verizon, Coke, Fairfax County Public Schools, and several other smaller businesses.
