Aloha Mai Kākou,

The Pūʻā Foundation is pleased to welcome you to the Mana Gathering – Planting Seeds of Hope — formerly known as the Mana Wahine Conference.

Since our first gathering in 2017, we have come together to learn, heal, and grow as a community. We met in 2018 and after a pause in 2019 due to community health concerns, we resumed in 2022, and gathered again in 2024. Now, in 2026, we are excited to begin the new year grounded in our shared commitment of trauma to transformation—healing the trauma that has touched both our people and our native forests.

Over the next few days I hope we learn, teach, and inspire one another - may we sing, dance, laugh, cry, eat and drink together.

I pray that your time this week is productive and meaningful!

THIS WEEK IS TO EXPERIENCE & LEARN ABOUT:

●     Trauma-informed Approaches, Practices, & Principles

Featuring Peer Support Basics & Application in our Forest setting

●     Transforming From Trauma

Connecting Post-Traumatic Growth, Neuroplasticity, and Cultural Practices as Pathways to Healing.

●     Mālama Kou Kino, Mālama ʻAina, Mālama Kanaka

Nurturing Self-Care, Wellness, and Well-Being—Mind, Body, Spirit, and Place.

This learning collaborative offers hands-on, experiential opportunities designed to strengthen both professional practice and personal well-being. The Gathering takes a unique dual approach: we seek to strengthen the capacity of community members impacted by trauma, and their supports—whether the trauma is through incarceration, systems involvement, or environmental crises such as fungus affecting the ʻōhiʻa lehua—while also enhancing the individual wellness of every participant.

We are honored to host experts in the field of Hawaiian culture, trauma transformation, creation care and forestry, who will share how ancestral knowledge and cultural practices have the power to transform trauma and restore balance.

In addition, we will highlight innovative uses of technology—including digital storytelling, measuring trauma transformation through cultural impact, and emerging evaluation tools that honor both data and the spirit of aloha and ohana.
