In this week of camp, we will explore the element of three-dimension with clay and an assortment of sculpting art media used to produce an array of exciting art pieces. Campers will enjoy the process of hands-on building!

Visiting Artist: Rod Haaland

Rod has been making pottery since the 1970's. He is also a degreed ceramic engineer who leads a research team for a ceramic manufacturing plant in Morristown, TN. Rod creates his own glazes, many from local materials. His focus is on wheel-thrown form, sometimes altered and combined with a foundation in utilitarian ware. Rod has worked in collaboration with local businesses as well as with members of his own creative family forming a line of illustrated pottery.
