Ignite the Spark in Every Child. One Team at a Time.
TEAMWORKS is a year-long, team-based enrichment program for 3rd–5th grade students. Students work in teams of 5–6, guided by high school mentors, as they take on hands-on TeamSpark Challenges designed to develop collaboration, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and leadership skills. Throughout the program, teams encounter challenges spanning STEM, Business, Arts & Writing, and Civic Engagement. Students learn through experience by sharing ideas, making decisions together, adapting when things don't go as planned, and reflecting on how they worked as a team.

Eligibility
- Open to current 3rd–5th grade students enrolled in SRVUSD elementary schools during the 2026–2027 school year.
- Students of all levels of teamwork experience are welcome.
- Students do not need to be outgoing, have an existing team, or have prior competition experience to participate.
- Because TEAMWORKS is team-based, students should be able to commit to attending the scheduled sessions.
2026–27 Theme: Explorers Go Out of This World! This year, TEAMWORKS is heading into outer space! Each month, our Explorers will take on a new set of space-themed TeamSparks Challenges designed to build creativity, communication, adaptability, and teamwork. The year culminates in Tournament Day and a final Celebration of their growth as a team.
Program Schedule Mentor/Elementary Team Challenge Meetings will be held at the Dougherty Valley High School Commons on the following Fridays:
- October 16, 2026
- November 13, 2026
- December 11, 2026
- January 8, 2027
- February 5, 2027 – Tournament Day
- March 5, 2027 – Celebration
Meetings are held from 4:30–6:00 PM, except the March 5 Celebration, which will be held from 5:30–7:00 PM. Please note: Because TEAMWORKS is a team-based program, attendance matters. Families should register only if they can commit to the scheduled meetings. There are no make-up sessions for missed meetings.
