The Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council (MDDC) conducted a statewide survey about people’s experiences using self-direction. Over 250 people with disabilities and their family members who use Self-Direction participated. Many people said self-direction helps them and their family have more choice, control, and flexibility in their lives. At the same time, people shared challenges like trouble hiring staff and budgets that do not meet their needs. This webinar will provide more information about why people choose self-direction, what is going well, and what can be improved. |
