About the Presenters

TOMMY BLACK, PhD., LPC, LMHC

Tommy Black, Ph.D., LPC, LMHC, has worked in mental health since 1998, with expertise in trauma, psychological testing and assessment, forensic and custody evaluations, and the treatment of sex offenders. He provides individual and group therapy, clinical supervision, crisis intervention, and expert legal testimony. His work also includes curriculum development and consultation with state and national counseling regulatory bodies.

Dr. Black has led Darsey, Black & Associates since 1998 and is the owner and clinical director of Atlantic Counseling Services. He has served in several roles, including Chair, on the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists, and has taught as an adjunct professor. A U.S. Army veteran, he holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Northcentral University, graduate degrees from Georgia Southern University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tampa.

Liz Diaz, MA, LPC. CPCS

Executive Director, Counselor Supervisor, Therapist

The best way to describe Liz is to say, “Bring it on!” Liz takes on the most difficult cases. She has been serving families in the Atlanta metro area for decades and in that time, she has seen a lot and fears nothing!  

Her work with adults includes tackling issues related to trauma, acute relationship issues, high conflict co-parenting, reunification therapy, and anti-recidivism counseling. She also works with individuals navigating antisocial behaviors and other personality disorders. Liz specializes in working with angry teenagers, high achievers, corporate executives, and high profile individuals.

Her background in early childhood development has also allowed her to act as a child’s personal guide through the world of toys, imagination, and feelings! As a play therapist, she speaks fluent LEGO, superhero, and princess—because sometimes, words just don’t cut it. Besides, who says therapy can’t include a little bit of playtime magic?"

Course Completion and CE Eligibility:

You must attend the program in full to be eligible for continuing education credit. Attendance will be verified through webinar timestamps and live monitoring, and partial credit cannot be awarded. Late arrival, early departure, or technical difficulties resulting in attendance outside the allowable time window may make you ineligible to receive a CE certificate. Registration and payment secure your access to the program but do not guarantee the award of continuing education credit. Payment does not waive or override the attendance requirements or other conditions for earning CE credit. This is a 2 hour course. Partial credit is not permitted. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 2 business days of course completion.

CE Statements:

Summit BHC, provider #2057, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 07/31/2025 - 07/31/2028. Social workers completing this course receive 2 clinical continuing education credits.

Summit BHC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7161. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Summit BHC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
