More Information for each premiere event:

"GOSPEL"

From acclaimed scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr., "GOSPEL" explores Black spirituality in sermon and song. From the blues to hip-hop, African Americans have been the driving force of sonic innovation for over a century. While musical styles come and go, there is one sound that has been a constant source of strength, courage, and wisdom from the pulpit to the choir lofts on any given Sunday: gospel.

The event on February 7 will be a celebration of all things gospel. In the worship center, three area gospel choirs and local artists will perform with clips of the film shown throughout the evening. Event emcees, Jeffrey Lampkin (The Big DM) and Jamal Bates (WFMV) will lead us through each performance while also talking with experts about the history of gospel music in South Carolina.

"GOSPEL" parts one and two premiere February 12 at 9 p.m. on ETVHD with parts three and four airing on February 13 also at 9 p.m.

"LYLA IN THE LOOP"

"LYLA IN THE LOOP" is a funny and engaging new animated series for kids ages 4-8 about Lyla Loops and her fantastical blue sidekick, Stu, who use creative and strategic problem-solving and critical thinking skills to help their family, friends, and community! From building homemade carnival games to creating a new sandwich for the family restaurant – Lyla, Stu, and the whole Loops crew tackle challenges with equal servings of humor and heart.

During the concert event in the worship center, ETV Education will host all elementary school aged children in the sanctuary to screen an upcoming episode.

"LYLA IN THE LOOP" premieres February 5 on PBS KIDS.
