How to Love a Forest

Ethan Tapper is an internationally-recognized forester, bestselling author, and digital storyteller from Vermont. His first book, How to Love a Forest: The Bittersweet Work of Tending a Changing World, was published in September, 2024, and has since received international acclaim, including winning the 2025 New England Book Award for non-fiction.

This event is sponsored by Doolittle Lake Co., Great Mountain Forest, Haystack Book Festival, Northwest Conservation District, Society of American Foresters, UConn 4-H, and the United Church of Christ Congregational (UCC).

Parking: Free parking is available at Norfolk Town Hall, 19 Maple Avenue, Norfolk, CT. From the parking lot, walk along Maple Avenue toward Route 44 and the Town Green. Use the marked crosswalk to safely cross to the Norfolk Congregational Church, where the program will begin.
