Arts Connect: Accessing Learning Through the Arts

The training will take place over the course of two days on September 19th and 20th from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Up to 30 teaching artists will be accepted into the first training. From that group of 30, up to 10 will be invited to continue in deeper training on arts integrated lesson writing and coaching teachers, on October 24th. After the two workshops, up to 6 teaching artists will be selected to participate in further paid training with experienced Artist Mentors in school classrooms with the goal of becoming an Artist Mentor of Arts Impact.

Arts Impact is looking for teaching artists that have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience serving as a Teaching Artist (TA)
• Experience working in PreK–12 classroom settings
• Strong foundation in your arts discipline’s concepts, techniques, and skills
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and engage deeply with rigorous arts integration lesson writing
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with public school teachers
• Experience co-developing lessons or curriculum with classroom educators
• Familiarity with culturally responsive and student-centered instructional practices
• Multilingual skills
