Become SACReD Journey Curriculum Facilitator! This 12 hour training will prepare you to facilitate the SACReD curriculum for your congregation, faithful organization, or curious community.

Trained facilitators will be ready to lead a curriculum that:

• deepens understanding of Reproductive Justice,
• engages complex theological approaches to liberation and systemic oppression,
• introduces practices of healing, and strengthens our community organizing.

In 2025 SACReD will be releasing our newly revised: A SACReD Journey Curriculum. We are doubly excited to announce that alongside this revise curriculum, we will be publishing a Jewish-specific addendum, designed with the National Council of Jewish Women.

The Jewish curriculum addendum enhances A SACReD Journey curriculum to add depth for Jewish communities. Each module of the SACReD curriculum has an accompanying piece of Jewish curriculum that brings it from the universal to the particular. This curriculum features Jewish texts, poetry, media, reflections, and guided discussions for use in your congregations.

THIS TRAINING IS FOR

• Leaders who want to facilitate A SACReD Journey curriculum in their own congregations, communities, and contexts
• Clergy, religious educators, leaders of social justice, women’s, and or reproductive freedom groups within a community
• Experienced organizers who are interested in and committed to people of faith
• Leaders with experience with faith-based organizing and Reproductive Justice
• Students who have done some faith and repro work in communities before who want to go deeper

THIS TRAINING WILL

• Deepen your understanding of Reproductive Justice in order to build a world of Joy, Justice, Wholeness, Compassion for everyone.
• Develop your theology of Reproductive Justice and
• Prepare you to engage your community in theological development with through the curriculum
• Practice healing rituals that offer opportunities to transform and release shame and other harms.
• Strengthen your facilitation skills to create and hold space for courageous conversations free from judgment, and stigma
• Build community with other people of faith who are committed to this work. Break isolation so we can build power and possibility together.

Participants are responsible for their travel and hotel.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS:

• SACReD is able to provide 10 scholarships for the May 2025 training. SACReD is able to cover the cost of the registration and two nights in the training hotel. Breakfast and lunch is included as part of the training (May 5-6).
• Scholarship Recipients will be responsible for their travel to & from New Orleans. For previous trainings, some scholarship participants have raised funds to cover these costs with the support of their home communities and congregations.
• Scholarship will be processed on a rolling basis, given on a first-come basis for all who provide complete information in this form.
• We are able to provide childcare stipends as part of registration. We are not able to provide childcare onsite for this training.

All submissions will be reviewed weekly and a SACReD team member will reach out to you to let you know if you have received a scholarship. Please give us at least two weeks to respond to your submission. We will close this form when scholarships are no longer available. All registrations close April 14.

COMMUNITY CARE

Child & family care stipends will be available for those who register by April 14. We are not able to provide onsite childcare, but offer these stipends as an alternative to help support the attendance of those responsible for direct family care. Please indicate that you are interested in this stipend in your registration and we will follow up with more details.

We will be implementing COVID and infection prevention Community Care protocols. These include masking, testing, and self-isolation if ill. SACReD will provide tests, masks, hand sanitizer and other material supports. You can review the full Community Care/COVID policy.

A SACReD Journey is a curriculum that invites you to engage Reproductive Justice (RJ) - its history, human rights principles, and activist agenda - from within the context of your faith tradition and community life.



You may have encountered the SACReD Curriculum in the past few years. We developed a beta version of this curriculum and trained over 400 facilitators from 30 religious traditions and denominations, and 30 different states to test the curriculum in their own communities and give us feedback. Now, we are proud to launch the revised curriculum: A SACReD Journey!

Within the world’s religions are bedrock ethics, narratives, beliefs, and rituals that support justice, human rights, liberation from all oppression, and community flourishing. This curriculum is an invitation for people of faith to constructively wrestle with the relationship between the ethical principles of RJ and both the oppressive and liberative aspects of their religious traditions. A SACReD Journey guides participants through these stories toward actions that support Reproductive Justice because of their deepest faith commitments, not in spite of them.

There are three categories of sponsorship: Individual, Community, and Movement Building, and five levels with varying impacts and benefits.

Individual: All donations to SACReD between Feb 1 - April 30, 2025 will support A SACReD Journey Curriculum Facilitator Training.

Community: These levels are designed for congregations, faith-based communities, organizations, and others who are working with smaller budgets and are directly a part of the religious organizing community.

Movement Building: These levels are designed for organizations, congregations, denominations, and others with larger budgets and/or grant-making ability. We encourage co-conspirators within philanthropy who desire to be champions for faith-based organizing to sponsor at this level.
