Our brains are hardwired for trance. Many of our ancestors have accessed states of trance as a way of asking for inspiration, guidance or healing. It can bring ecstatic awareness and experiences that extend beyond the physical senses and the cognitive mind. The gates to our inner knowing and intuitive mind can open. Deep healing can occur in altered states of consciousness.

In our culture today many of us are experiencing a lack of ecstasy that we might try to fill with other means. The dancing path is an on-going journey from inertia to surrender and ecstatic trance through the vessel of our bodies. To be in a state of embodied ecstasy means to be fully alive.

In this workshop we will move within the 5Rhythms® maps to anchor into our bodies and explore the gateways of our physicality as well as our energetic centres. The 5Rhythms® practice will be the blueprint with which we will safely enter non-ordinary states of consciousness through movement, breath and rhythm. 

Breath practices, embodiment tools and ritual will support the “Medicine Dance” in which we will intent to move for personal, collective or ancestral healing. 

We will integrate our experiences through heart centred sharing and compassionate witnessing. 

No previous experience is required. Every body is welcome.

Workshop Hours:

• Friday, April 12th 7pm-9pm
• Saturday, April 13th 12pm-6pm
• Sunday, April 14th 1pm-5pm

Event Fee:

• $275 until March 1, 2024.
• $300 after February 15, 2024.

Bettina Rothe is passionate about bringing community together to co-create sacred space in which she invites conscious embodiment and heart centred intimacy. As a somatic coach and licensed 5Rhythms® dance teacher, she draws from a variety of healing movement arts, psychology, meditation, and shamanic practices. 

Bettina has been on the medicine path for 25 years. She is currently deepening her work through the addition of plant medicines into her offerings and is in training with ATMA for Psychedelic Assisted Therapy.

She teaches workshops internationally and lives in Vancouver, BC where she is part of a vibrant 5Rhythms® dance community.
