Introduction to Bloodstain Pattern Analysis on Fabrics and Digital Casework will teach the participants about the composition and construction of natural and synthetic fibers, construction of yarns, construction of fabrics, and the effect these variables have on the formation and appearance of bloodstains when liquid blood is deposited on these materials.
Instruction will be through lectures, readings, discussion, and laboratory practical’s involving liquid blood, fabric, and clothing. Participants will learn how to examine, document, preserve, and write reports for bloodstained fabrics and clothing. In addition, participants will learn how to evaluate BPA cases that are provided in a digital format. The workshop is limited to 16 participants that have previously attended a minimum of a 40-hour Basic Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Workshop.
