Glenn Purves, Managing Director, is Global Head of Macro in the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII). He leads BII’s macroeconomic team and produces proprietary research to provide insights on the global economy, engaging with BlackRock’s investment leaders and delivering thought-provoking and actionable portfolio insights for clients.

 

Glenn has over 25 years of experience developing macro, fiscal and structural policy frameworks. He has represented over a dozen countries at the International Monetary Fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and has advised ministers on international and domestic economic and social policy, including on macroprudential and financial sector issues during the financial crisis, while based in London. He has also held senior roles at Finance Canada across all policy sectors, with direct, hands-on experience on supply-side factors critical to shaping future macro paths. Most recently his focus has been on developing infrastructure, energy and innovation strategy and projects.
