Honorary Chair Sandra Maas Sandra is a broadcast veteran of TV and radio, recognized nationally as an accomplished leader, communicator, connector, creator and collaborator. As the Executive Film director at Gallagher, she is currently working on a documentary on America's Healthcare Crisis. Sandra is past president at the Women's Museum of California and founding host of the Emmy Award winning video series "Trailblazing Women. Honored as a San Diego "Woman of Distinction" by Mayor Todd Gloria in 2023 and a “Woman of Influence” by the San Diego Business Journal in 2021, Sandra is a sought out public speaker, moderator and ambassador. For decades Sandra served as emcee for Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year Awards,” in San Diego, merging her strong relationships and extensive connections in the philanthropic and business communities.
As a CBS Newspath medical correspondent, Sandra developed her passion for the health sciences, medical and biotech industries. As a primary TV news anchor in the San Diego market, she developed medical franchises at KFMB-TV and KUSI-TV.
Sandra’s anchoring and investigative reporting have earned her 15 Emmy nominations, a Golden Mike Award, an Associated Press Mark Twain Award, recognition from the San Diego Press Club and honors from the San Diego County Medical Society. She's been inducted into the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and recognized by the Salvation Army as a “Woman of Dedication” for her philanthropic work.
Sandra graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Political Science. |
