Join us online for our next

Children's Services Interest Group meeting

on Friday May 24th!

Our guest for this meeting will be Raelyn Wiirre, manager of Youth Learning at Jacksonville Public Library. Raelyn will be sharing information from her recent FLA Conference presentation,

Combating Summer Learning Loss with Fun and Inexpensive Outreach Programs:

"In this session you will learn how to create a high-impact, low-resource summer enrichment program for your library. Discover how to plan a program that meets specific outcomes, select a fun theme, establish a consistent format, and deliver it with minimal resources. Join us for this session to develop a program that will inspire kids to develop a lifelong love of reading through game-based literacy activities. Don't miss out on this chance to create a program you can do over and over!"

Guest Speaker: Raelyn Wiirre is the Manager of Youth Learning at the Jacksonville Public Library. Prior to her current position, she served as a branch manager and a teen and children's librarian. She pursued a library career after developing a love for literacy-based programming while working in various summer camps and afterschool programs. Outside of the library, Raelyn loves painting landscapes and spending time outdoors with her family.

Interest Group Facilitator: Lori Brosseau

Lori became a part of the Youth Services team in Live Oak in 2021. She visits the local preschools presenting the reading outreach program and in house, Lori can be found singing, reading and crafting Wednesday and Thursday mornings in preschool and toddler storytimes, as well as, leading The Magic Treehouse Book Club every Thursday afternoon. She loves learning new ways to make the library useful and fun for our young ones.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only. Registration is strongly encouraged.
