Description: The medical use of cannabis was legalized in Ohio in 2016. This interactive webinar will provide an overview of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, with an important focus on laws related to the use of medical cannabis. This presentation will also focus on the potential harms and benefits of medical cannabis use and the impact of medical cannabis use on mental health and substance use outcomes.

About the Presenter:

LaTrice Montgomery, Ph.D.

LaTrice Montgomery, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in the Addiction Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience and Director of Clinical Research at Ria Health. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Berea College and both her masters and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She completed her National Institute on Drug Abuse sponsored clinical internship at the Yale University School of Medicine in the Division of Substance Abuse. Dr. Montgomery’s clinical and research interests have focused on improving prevention and treatment interventions for Black adolescent and young adults who use/misuse substances. Her work has primarily focused on the co-use of cannabis and tobacco, especially via blunts. LaTrice has presented her award-winning work at several local, national and international academic conferences. In addition, LaTrice’s work has been published in top-tier journals, including Drug and Alcohol Dependence and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Substance Use and Addiction Treatment and the journal Cannabis.
