About Our Speaker: David Beausoleil is the President and Founder of CAST Lighting, a landscape lighting manufacturer with distribution throughout the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Beausoleil has over forty years of experience in low-voltage landscape lighting and twenty-plus years as a lighting manufacturer, with a strong track record in developing new products for the industry. Mr. Beausoleil introduced the revolutionary solid bronze product line in the early 2000s, holds over fifteen patents, and has become a recognized authority on landscape lighting and lighting technology. Mr. Beausoleil, working hands-on with contractors, developed lighting seminars covering the art, design, installation, and science of landscape lighting. He has experience in public speaking, presenting at several trade shows and association seminars, over the past 27 years. Mr. Beausoleil has continued to teach the yearly Rutgers University course, Landscape Lighting: A Practical Approach, as well as other security, design, and installation courses throughout the country. In 2009, Mr. Beausoleil developed the first security lighting system designed specifically for the perimeter fence line. He wrote a book on perimeter security lighting, which is an extensive in-depth study concerning the human eye, LED technology, and many considerations to consider when lighting for security. The fence-mounted CAST Perimeter® security product line won “The Most Innovative Product of the Year” and the “Best Product in the Security” category at the 2012 Lightfair International, the world's largest lighting trade show. Mr. Beausoleil began his career in 1982, working with his family at Aquarius Supply, an irrigation and landscape distributor in northern New Jersey. While there, he ran the marketing and sales divisions for several years. He also obtained his CID for Irrigation Design for residential and commercial irrigation systems and subsequently left in 2000 to start Cast Lighting LLC. Mr. Beausoleil attended Northeastern University from 1984 to 1989 and majored in Business Management. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1983. David is married to his high school sweetheart, JoAnn. They reside in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and have two grown children. He believes in giving back and is active with various charities, including Smile Train, USO, Freedom Alliance, and Wounded Warriors. In his spare time, David enjoys everything outdoors and frequently visits the Adirondack Mountains, where he spends time fishing, cooking, and exploring with family and friends.
