This seminar will focus on the educational requirements for existing board approved supervisors to 

obtain CEUs in supervision for licensure renewal. This will include reviewing the Maryland requirements for providing supervision. The program will also explore the practical aspects of supervision from required documentation, notes and time keeping to billing and coding. Also included will be dialog on when Clinical Supervision crosses into therapy and how to create a legacy.

Program Description:

Participant Learning Objectives:


  • Understand Maryland requirements to be a supervisor of LMSW and LGPC
  • Identify the length of time supervision notes are to be kept by the supervisor
  • Share practical tips for recording supervision times and required paperwork
  • Understand when supervision crosses over into therapy
  • Identify billing and coding to avoid fines, delays and embarrassment
  • Define leaving a legacy


Featuring:


Mike Shea, EdD, LCSW-C, licensed certified social worker and the owner of Life Counseling in Waynesboro, PA. Dr. Shea has more than 40 years of experience in the field of mental health, working with clients of all ages across a range of services. He formerly served as the Director of Outpatient Services for Brook Lane where he provided oversight and leadership to therapists at multiple locations. Dr. Shea also has provided clinical supervision for numerous therapists in the Hagerstown area and maintains his supervision credentials.

Continuing Education Credits


Maryland Social Workers: 

Brook Lane is authorized by the Board of Social Work in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education learning activities and maintains full responsibility for this Program. This training qualifies for Category 1 continuing education units and provides 3.0 credit hours; partial credit will not be awarded. 


Counselors/Therapists: 

Brook Lane has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5452. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Brook Lane is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. This program will provide 3 clock hours; partial credit will not be awarded.


Maryland Psychologists: 

The Maryland State Board of Examiners for Psychologists will accept continuing education hours provided by Brook Lane, an approved CE sponsor by the State Board of Social Worker Examiners in Maryland; partial credit will not be awarded.


Other Professionals:

A certificate of completion noting the number of educational/contact hours will be provided.

To receive a refund, cancellations must be received in writing no later than one week prior to the seminar. No refunds will be made after that date or for no-shows on the day of the seminar. A $10.00 processing fee applies to all cancellations.
